Lexus LFA 0-60 The Lexus LFA will be released in 2011 with a suggested selling price of around $350,000 to $375,000. Touted as a racing car and as a sports car, the Lexus LFA will have a production run of 500 cars, averaging 20 cars per month for two years. If you haven’t already pre-ordered, you don’t need to worry about insurance since they are already sold out.
Ferrari F50 The Ferrari F50 was not inexpensive when it was release in 1997. At almost a half a million dollars, these Italian made sports cars were limited to a production volume of 349. Made predominantly in red, the convertible with hard top superfast sports car was a head turner. Red cars still remain an insurance company’s favorite since they tend to raise the premiums.
Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano The 2-seat Ferrari 599 GTB Fiorano debuted in 2006 and is still in production today. It has a 6.0L V12 engine and offers a choice of a 6 speed manual transmission or a 6 speed F1 superfast transmission. The cost of this Ferrari superfast sports car is approximately $275,000 but you will need to be placed on a waiting list if you want to buy one.
Ascari KZ1 Made by Ascari from 2003 until the present, the Ascari KZ1 has a V8 engine and can reach 201mph. With only 50 cars released, the price tag of $370,000 is almost guaranteed to increase through second hand sales. The car is not built strictly by machine as it requires almost 350 hours of manual handiwork for each car, significantly adding to the cost and value.
Roadster Sport At less than $130,000 this is one of the more affordable superfast sports cars. What makes it most unique, however, is that it is a battery operated electric vehicle, running completely without the need for fuel. It can travel over 240 miles per charge. Tesla put the car into production in 2008 and plans to run it throughout 2012.
